Eldest Daughter LLC ("Eldest Daughter," "we," "us") is a fragrance and home scent company based in New Jersey. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit our website, buy from us, join our email list, or sign up at one of our markets, and what we do with it.
The short version: we collect only what we need to fill your order and stay in touch if you ask us to. We never sell your information.
Information we collect
When you place an order: your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number if you provide it, and what you bought. Payment card details go directly to our payment processors. We never see or store your full card number.
When you join our email list: your email address, and anything else you choose to share on the signup form, such as your birth order.
When you sign up at a market or event: the email address and any answers you enter through our QR code signup.
When you contact us: your name, email address, and whatever you include in your message.
When you browse our website: basic technical information collected automatically, such as your device type, browser, approximate location based on your IP address, and the pages you visit.
How we use it
To process, ship, and follow up on your orders, including order confirmations and shipping updates.
To answer your questions and handle returns for damaged items.
To send you emails about new scents, samples, and limited pieces, but only if you've signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time.
To understand how people use our website so we can improve it.
To prevent fraud and meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with the companies that help us run the business, and only what they need to do their job:
Squarespace, which hosts our website, store, and email list.
Payment processors Squarespace, which handle card payments.
Shipping carriers USPS, which deliver your order.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
We only send marketing emails to people who sign up, on our website, at checkout, or at a market. We don't email often.
Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also reply or write to us to be removed. Unsubscribing from marketing emails won't stop emails about an order you've placed, such as confirmations and shipping updates.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies, small files stored in your browser, to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, and show us how visitors use the site. These are set by Squarespace and, if we use them, analytics or advertising tools such as Meta (Instagram and Facebook) or TikTok [remove any you don't use].
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The store may not work properly without them.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days. We may need to keep some order records for tax and accounting purposes.
How long we keep it
We keep order records as long as the law requires for tax and accounting. We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Security
We rely on Squarespace and our payment processors, which use encryption to protect your information. No system is completely secure, but we limit who can access your information and collect only what we need.
Children
Our website and products are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here and change the date at the top.
