These terms apply when you use the Eldest Daughter website or buy from Eldest Daughter LLC ("Eldest Daughter," "we," "us"), online or in person at a market. By placing an order, you agree to them. How we handle your personal information is covered in our Privacy Policy.

Orders, pricing and payment

All prices are in US dollars. Sales tax is added at checkout where it applies. Payment is due when you place your order.

We make our products in small batches, so quantities are limited. We may cancel or refuse an order if an item is out of stock, if a price was listed incorrectly, or if we suspect fraud. If we cancel, we'll refund you in full.

We do our best to show colors and packaging accurately, but your screen may differ slightly from the product.

Shipping

Orders are processed within 3 to 5 business days. Once your order ships, you'll get an email with tracking. We currently ship within the United States.

Delivery times are estimates from the carrier. Once a package is handed to the carrier, we aren't responsible for delays, but we'll help you follow up if something goes missing. Please make sure your shipping address is correct; we can't reroute packages sent to an address entered incorrectly.

Returns and damaged items

Because our products are fragrance and candles, we can't accept returns or exchanges once they've left us, including for a change of mind about a scent.

If your order arrives damaged or leaking, email us within 7 days of delivery with your order number and photos of the item and packaging. We'll send a replacement or a refund, whichever you prefer.

Purchases made at markets follow the same policy.

Product use and safety

Please read the label and care instructions before use. You are responsible for using our products as directed.

Voile parfumé (body mist)

• For external use only. Avoid your eyes, mouth, and broken or irritated skin.

• Patch test on a small area first, especially if you have sensitive skin or fragrance allergies. Stop using it if irritation occurs.

• When spraying hair, linens, or fabrics, test on a hidden spot first.

• Keep out of reach of children and pets. Store away from heat and direct sunlight.

Candles

• Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep it away from children, pets, drafts, and anything flammable.

• Burn on a heat-resistant surface. Trim the wick to about 1/4 inch before each use.

• Don't burn for more than 4 hours at a time, and stop when about 1/2 inch of wax remains.

• The jar gets hot. Let it cool completely before moving it.

Our ingredients are listed on each product page and label. If you have allergies or sensitivities, check them before buying.

Limit of liability

Our products are sold as described, for personal use. To the fullest extent the law allows, Eldest Daughter is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from the use or misuse of our products or website, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the product involved. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under law that can't be waived.

Our content

The Eldest Daughter name, logo, product names, photographs, and written content on this site belong to Eldest Daughter LLC. Please don't copy or reuse them without our written permission. Sharing a link or reposting our social content with credit is always welcome.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted here, with the date at the top, applies to orders placed after that date.
